30.06-03.07.26 | 26th International Conference on Computational Science and Its Applications 2026

30 June – 3 July 2026 in Braga, Portugal

CAIRNE Gold Member University of Minho and its LASI – Intelligent Systems Associate Laboratory will organise the workshop GNS-AI 2026 – Generative and Neuro-Symbolic Artificial Intelligence for Real-World Systems as part of the ICCSA 2026, taking place from 30 June to 3 July 2026 in Braga, Portugal.

The workshop will bring together researchers and practitioners working at the intersection of Generative AI, neuro-symbolic AI, explainable and trustworthy AI, and real-world AI deployment across sectors such as mobility, smart cities, sustainability, healthcare, and public services.

Topics covered by the workshop include generative AI for simulation and optimisation, symbolic reasoning combined with deep learning, explainable and trustworthy AI systems, governance and regulatory frameworks, and scalable AI infrastructures for mission-critical environments. The workshop also highlights emerging applications in autonomous mobility, urban intelligence, sustainability modelling, public-sector AI systems, and digital twins.

The workshop is chaired by Hugo Peixoto, Manuel Rodrigues, and Regina Sousa from the University of Minho and the Algoritmi Research Centre.

ICCSA 2026 marks the 26th edition of the long-running international conference series dedicated to computational science and its applications. Over the years, the conference has been hosted across Europe, Asia, North America, South America, and Australia, bringing together the global computational science community to discuss advances in research, industry applications, and emerging digital technologies.

Accepted papers at ICCSA 2026 will be published in Springer’s Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series, indexed by major international scientific databases including Scopus and Web of Science.
