AIces 2026 – International School on the Cognitive, Ethical and Societal Dimensions of AI

The AIces 2026 International School will take place 30 March – 2 April 2026 in Porto–Maia, Portugal, bringing together students, researchers and practitioners interested in the broader societal implications of artificial intelligence.

The four-day programme focuses on the cognitive, ethical and societal dimensions of AI, offering a multidisciplinary perspective on how AI systems interact with people and society. The school will feature expert lectures, keynote talks, panel discussions and a participant symposium, creating opportunities for attendees to exchange ideas and engage with leading researchers working at the intersection of AI, ethics, and society.

AIces aims to support the next generation of researchers by providing a collaborative environment where participants can explore responsible AI development, discuss governance and policy challenges, and connect with an international community working on trustworthy and human-centred AI.

Participants from the CAIRNE network are eligible for reduced registration fees, offering an additional opportunity for members of the European AI community to take part in the event and engage with emerging discussions on the societal role of AI.
