The CAIRNE Office Prague was initially founded in February 2019, as one of the first CAIRNE Offices, and is hosted by the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics at the Czech Technical University in Prague (CIIRC CTU).
CIIRC CTU aims to conduct top foundational and applied research in the field of AI. To achieve this goal we are building an efficient AI ecosystem at CIIRC CTU, and we understand the importance of involvement in both European and global structures shaping development within the AI discipline worldwide.
The creation of CAIRNE Office Prague was initiated by distinguished researcher and head of Department of Artificial Intelligece at CIIRC CTU Dr. Josef Urban, who is a member of the CAIRNE Extended Core Team.
The main activities of the office include acting as the CAIRNE contact point for Central and Eastern European countries, as well as for the Czech Republic; intensive involvement in project management and European grants with CAIRNE involvement; and participation in CAIRNE ‘s strategic development.
The CAIRNE Office Prague is currently represented in the CAIRNE Extended Core Team, the Innovation Task Force and the CAIRNE Communications and Outreach Task Force.
