ABOUT US
The CAIRNE | Guimarães office in Portugal was established in 2025 to strengthen research and innovation in Artificial Intelligence in the country. It is based in Guimarães, at the Associated Laboratory of Intelligent Systems (LASI) \ ALGORITMI Centre, at the University of Minho, and is part of a network that brings together 13 Portuguese institutions. The office represents a very significantly part of the national AI community, and specifically LASI within CAIRNE. It carries out its main activities in conjunction with other strategic entities/organisations.
The CAIRNE | Guimarães office will play a key role in AI research and innovation, working along five main axes: Research and Development; Community Involvement; Collaboration with Industry, Innovation and Entrepreneurship; and Knowledge Dissemination.
