KnoWare
Anticipating the Next Generation of AI
KnoWare is a Horizon Europe project that develops scientific methods to anticipate the capabilities and risks of future General-Purpose AI (GPAI) systems before they emerge. By advancing the concept of prefiguration, the project helps policymakers, researchers, and regulators better understand the trajectory of AI development and supports evidence-based implementation of the European AI Act.
CAIRNE’s Role
CAIRNE leads the project’s ecosystem engagement activities, connecting KnoWare with the wider European AI community. Through collaboration with organisations such as ADRA, the European AI Office, the OECD AI community, and standardisation bodies, CAIRNE supports knowledge exchange, stakeholder engagement, dissemination, and the uptake of the project’s results across Europe.
